Police Discover Hundreds of Thousands of Shekels Hidden in Herzliya Home
Police in Herzliya, central Israel, discovered approximately 850,000 shekels (about $230,000 USD) in cash hidden within a residential home. The discovery was made by detectives from the Glilot station during a court-ordered search.
During the search, which took place in the evening as part of an initiative by the detectives, the money was found concealed in two separate locations inside the house. Officers seized the cash.
A resident of Herzliya, a man in his 40s, was arrested on suspicion of money laundering and conspiracy to commit a crime. He was taken to the Glilot station for questioning.
Following his interrogation, the suspect was released under restrictive conditions, and the investigation into the matter is ongoing.
