Police Seize NIS 1.4 Million in Suspected Terror Funds Hidden in Car
Border Police officers at the Tunnel Checkpoint near Jerusalem apprehended a Palestinian vehicle traveling from the Gush Etzion settlement bloc towards the city. During a search of the car, officers discovered a hidden double wall.
Concealed within this compartment were two bags containing approximately NIS 1.4 million in cash, suspected to be terror financing. The driver, a 29-year-old resident of Jerusalem, was arrested at the scene.
He has been transferred for further investigation by the Jerusalem District's Central Unit and the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency). A Jerusalem Magistrate's Court extended his remand for an additional two days.
