Israeli Police Seize Over 4.4 Million Shekels in Cash During Tamarra Raid

On July 22, 2026, police from the Northern District and Border Police fighters conducted a targeted operational search in a private residence in the city of Tamra. The search uncovered more than 4.4 million shekels in cash, including over 1.4 million shekels in Israeli currency, more than 2.4 million shekels worth of euros, and over 600,000 shekels worth of US dollars. The operation was supported by the Northern Economic Crimes Unit of Lahav 433. The seized funds are now under investigation by the Tamra Police Investigations Department in cooperation with the Northern Economic Crimes Unit and the Haifa and Northern Tax Authority's Investigations Officer. Authorities stated the raid is part of ongoing efforts to combat crime, particularly through economic enforcement against individuals involved in criminal activities.
