Police Discover NIS 1.4 Million in Cash Hidden in Car at Jerusalem Crossing

Israeli police officers discovered approximately NIS 1.4 million (about $375,000 USD) in cash, suspected to be terror funds, hidden within a double wall of a vehicle attempting to cross from Judea and Samaria into Jerusalem. The seizure occurred over the weekend during an operation by Border Police (Magav) officers from the Jerusalem Envelope and crossing fighters at the Tunnels Crossing.

During a search of the vehicle, officers found a hidden double wall. Inside, they discovered two bags containing the cash. The driver, a 29-year-old resident of Jerusalem, was arrested at the scene.

He was handed over for further investigation by the Jerusalem District's Central Unit and the Shin Bet security agency. A Magistrate's Court recently extended his remand until August 31, 2026.
