Israeli Cyber Firm Cyera Acquires Oasis Security in $1 Billion Deal Benefiting 170 Employees
Israeli cybersecurity company Cyera has signed a letter of intent to acquire Oasis Security in a deal valued at approximately $1 billion. This transaction ranks among the largest cybersecurity deals in Israel and represents a significant financial exit for Oasis's 170 employees, who are expected to share over $100 million from exercising their stock options. Both companies share investors including Cyberstarts, Sequoia Capital, and Accel. Earlier this year, Oasis was valued at around $700 million in its latest funding round. Cyera recently raised $600 million, reaching a valuation of $12 billion, with annual revenues near $200 million and rapid growth.
Oasis, founded in 2022 by Danny Brickman and Amit Zimmerman, who previously served in Israel's Unit 81, developed a platform for managing non-human identities and AI agents, becoming a global leader in under four years. Since inception, Oasis raised about $195 million across three funding rounds led by Cyberstarts, Sequoia, Accel, and Craft Ventures. Institutional investors hold 50-60% of Oasis shares and stand to gain $500-600 million, while founders Brickman and Zimmerman, holding 20-30%, expect $200-300 million mainly in cash and Cyera shares. Oasis employees will benefit from option plans worth $100-150 million plus retention packages in Cyera stock.
Post-acquisition, Oasis will operate as an independent division within Cyera, focusing on non-human identity security. The combined technology will address the surge in AI agents and non-human communication within enterprise systems, a challenge highlighted by a 480% increase in non-human identities in Fortune 500 companies over six months. Cyera’s CEO Yotam Segev emphasized the importance of uniting data security with identity management to enable safe AI adoption. Oasis CEO Danny Brickman noted their shared vision to redefine cybersecurity for the AI era.
This acquisition is part of Cyera’s broader strategy, having spent $1.35-1.4 billion on acquisitions including Trail Security, Ryft, and Genie Security, funded by $2.3 billion raised to expand its end-to-end security platform rapidly. The deal includes approximately $700 million in cash and the remainder in Cyera shares.
