Goalkeeper Marco Wolf Joins Hapoel Be'er Sheva, Embraces Israeli Culture and New Career Chapter

Argentine goalkeeper Marco Wolf recently spoke about his move to Hapoel Be'er Sheva, reflecting on his journey in Israeli football and his personal connection to the country. Wolf initially joined Maccabi Petah Tikva as a backup but gradually became the first-choice goalkeeper. This summer, he made a significant career step by transferring to Hapoel Be'er Sheva, a move he describes as the most important of his career. "I left after ten years at the same club to start almost from scratch, without a guaranteed contract and with much uncertainty. I believed in the dream, and today I feel it has come true," he said.

Wolf expressed strong ties to Israeli culture and language, though he admitted he has yet to get used to the spicy food. He highlighted his time at Maccabi Petah Tikva as formative, noting it was where he debuted professionally, got married, and started his family. Winning the Israeli State Cup with Petah Tikva was a career highlight, validating his sacrifices as a player.

Regarding his transfer to Hapoel Be'er Sheva, Wolf revealed the club had shown interest the previous season, but the deal only materialized this summer. Familiarity with the current coach and goalkeeping staff gave him confidence in the move. He also shared his ambition to play in European competitions, noting that in 2024 his team came close to qualifying. "In Argentina, these tournaments are closely followed, and participating in them would be very special for me," he added.
