Senior Degel HaTorah Official Shimon Tubul Joins Noam Party Amid Indictment Threat

Rabbi Shimon Tubul, deputy mayor of Beersheba representing Degel HaTorah and a distinguished reservist in the Givati Brigade, has joined the Noam party led by MK Avi Maoz. Tubul's move is part of Noam's expansion efforts ahead of upcoming elections, bringing significant municipal and public experience to the party. Tubul has served on Beersheba's city council since 2013 and currently holds the deputy mayor position, overseeing environmental affairs and leading a three-member faction. He is also an educator with degrees in education and educational management, former CEO of "Beit Yosef" institutions, and a founder of the "United Hatzalah" branch in Beersheba. Tubul organizes major community initiatives, including a central Selichot prayer event at Turner Stadium and weekly food distribution to hundreds of families. He also serves as a panelist on Channel 14 and continues active reserve duty, earning a brigade commendation during the recent "Sword of Iron" conflict.

Tubul explained his decision to join Noam as driven by a commitment to preserving right-wing governance and Torah values, emphasizing the need for leadership that unites the public and upholds Jewish identity and ethical governance. MK Avi Maoz welcomed Tubul, highlighting his grassroots leadership and the boost his addition brings to Noam's outreach and Jewish identity reinforcement.

The announcement comes amid a prosecution decision to indict Tubul over an incident during his military reserve service. Noam party strongly supports Tubul, criticizing the civilian prosecution's involvement after military authorities had already investigated and backed him. The party affirmed full backing for Tubul, praising his service and dedication to Israel's security.
