Beersheba Deputy Mayor Shimon Tubul Joins Noam Party Amid Indictment Reports

Shimon Tubul, the deputy mayor of Beersheba and a longtime city council member since 2013, has officially joined the Noam party led by MK Avi Maoz. Tubul, who represents Degel HaTorah and currently holds the environment portfolio while leading a three-member faction, brings extensive experience in education and community leadership. He holds a bachelor's degree in education and a master's in educational management, has served as CEO of the Beersheba "Beit Yosef" institutions for about 15 years, and was a founding member of the local United Hatzalah chapter. Tubul also initiated the central Selichot prayer event at Turner Stadium and runs a charity distributing food packages weekly to hundreds of families.

In addition to his public service, Tubul serves as a reservist combat soldier in the Givati Brigade, earning a divisional commendation during Operation Sword of Iron. He is also a panelist on Channel 14. Tubul stated his motivation for joining Noam is a deep belief in uniting and strengthening the right-wing and Torah world leadership, emphasizing the need for leadership that preserves Jewish identity and leads with clear values faithful to Torah, the people, and the land of Israel.

MK Avi Maoz welcomed Tubul's addition, highlighting his grassroots leadership and social, educational, and public work. Maoz said Tubul's joining strengthens the party's connection to new audiences and reinforces Jewish identity and state values.

The move comes amid reports that Tubul faces an indictment related to an incident during his military reserve service. Noam expressed surprise at the civilian prosecution's decision to take over the case after military investigations cleared Tubul, affirming their full support for him and his actions.
