Netanyahu’s Official Residence Expenses Reach Nearly 2 Million Shekels in 2025

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s official residence expenses from the state budget totaled approximately 1.98 million shekels in 2025. In the first half of 2026, these expenses amounted to about 731,000 shekels. This information was disclosed by the Prime Minister’s Office in response to a petition filed by the Freedom of Information Movement.

For the first time, the classification of residence expenses included private residences beyond the official residence on Balfour Street in Jerusalem, which has been under renovation since the Netanyahu family vacated it in July 2021. These private residences include Netanyahu’s family home on Azza Street, the additional residence in Caesarea, and other private homes such as that of his friend Simon Falic in Jerusalem, where Netanyahu stayed for security reasons due to its bomb shelter.

The official residence on Balfour Street is currently classified as supportive housing during the renovation period. Netanyahu’s residence expenses in 2025 were lower than in 2024, when they reached approximately 2.63 million shekels. In 2023, the expenses totaled around 1.8 million shekels.

This detailed breakdown reflects increased transparency regarding the use of state funds for the Prime Minister’s housing needs and highlights the inclusion of multiple private residences in the official expense reports for the first time.
