Israeli Government Spent Millions on Netanyahu Residences Including Landscaping and Food Deliveries

The Movement for Freedom of Information revealed that the Israeli government paid approximately 2.7 million shekels for expenses related to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's residences for the year 2025 and the first half of 2026. These figures were obtained from the Prime Minister's Office following a court request by the movement. The expenses cover three locations: the Netanyahu family home on Azza Street in Jerusalem, their private residence in Caesarea which is currently unoccupied, and the official residence on Balfour Street undergoing extensive renovations.

Among the disclosed costs were 28,500 shekels for replacing two bathtubs at the Jerusalem home, 95,000 shekels for gardening services in Caesarea, and nearly 8,000 shekels spent on food deliveries via the Wolt platform. Notably, 82% of the expense details were redacted, limiting full transparency on the spending.

This disclosure sheds light on the significant public funds allocated to maintaining and servicing the Prime Minister's residences amid ongoing renovations and private property management. The Movement for Freedom of Information continues to advocate for greater transparency in government expenditures.
