Iran Strengthens Militias to Destroy Israel, Threat Remains Despite Regime Change

During Israel's Security Conference broadcast on Channel 14, Iran correspondent Dror Blazadeh revealed Tehran's true objective: the destruction of the State of Israel. He explained that Iran is actively supporting and consolidating various militias across the region, particularly in Iraq, to achieve this goal. Blazadeh noted a recent surge in Iranian backing of Iraqi militias, recognizing their significant power. He assessed that the drones launched at Israel recently originated from Iraq.

Blazadeh listed the militias Iran is uniting, including Hezbollah, the Houthis, Iraqi militias, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and other terrorist groups in Jordan and Egypt. He emphasized these groups are driven by deep religious ideology rooted in Shia Islam, rather than financial incentives or casualty concerns. Addressing reports of some pro-Iranian militias in Iraq agreeing to disarm under U.S. orders, he clarified that these are newer, less entrenched groups, while the core, deeply rooted militias remain loyal to Iran.

Warning of the enduring threat, Blazadeh stated that even if the Iranian regime falls, the Shia axis opposing Israel will persist. He stressed that while a regime change might remove Iran's leadership, the Shia militias will continue to oppose Israel under Iranian influence. He concluded by urging vigilance and robust intelligence to counter this ongoing threat.
