Israeli Police Arrest Two Ashdod Brothers After Dramatic Chase Involving Illegal Migrants

A routine police patrol in the Modiin area escalated into a cross-district manhunt ending with the arrest of two brothers from Ashdod. The incident began when a patrol officer stopped a suspicious vehicle suspected of transporting illegal migrants. Upon ordering two undocumented passengers out of the car, the driver attempted to run over the officer and fled the scene. The officer fired at the vehicle's tires to stop it, but the driver continued fleeing toward southern Israel.

Police used advanced technological tracking to locate the vehicle entering Ashdod. Detectives from Modiin and Ashdod stations conducted focused searches, eventually finding the driver near his brother's home, where he was arrested. A search of the brother's residence uncovered a third illegal migrant, suspected to have been employed by the brother at a local construction site.

In total, five individuals were detained: the fleeing driver charged with transporting illegal migrants, attempted assault on a police officer, and evading arrest; his brother charged with employing an illegal migrant; and the three undocumented migrants themselves. The suspect's vehicle was impounded for evidence, and all detainees will face court hearings to extend their detention as investigations continue.
