New Song by Late Actor Alon Abutbul Released on First Anniversary of His Death

Alon Abutbul, the Israeli actor who passed away on July 29, 2025, at age 60 after collapsing at a beach, is being remembered with the release of a previously unheard song titled "In a Dream." The song, written by Abutbul and composed by Moshe Daabul, was recorded during the last years of Abutbul’s life when he had begun developing a music career alongside his acting. Daabul recounted their reunion in December 2023 after years apart, describing their creative collaboration in a studio in Hararit, a quiet area that allowed Abutbul to focus on music away from daily pressures.

Moti Rivlin, Abutbul’s longtime friend and creative partner, accompanied him during the recording sessions. Rivlin explained that "In a Dream" was deeply personal and poetic, reflecting an inner journey of memory and self-discovery. The song was recorded two months after the October 7, 2023 massacre, a period that profoundly affected Abutbul and motivated him to seek solace in nature and music.

Rivlin emphasized that the release of the song on the first anniversary of Abutbul’s death is not meant as a mere memorial but as a revelation of another facet of the artist.
