Hapoel Tel Aviv Eyes Former NBA Forward Maxi Kleber to Strengthen Frontcourt

Hapoel Tel Aviv is advancing its roster preparations for the upcoming season by considering the addition of Maxi Kleber, a 34-year-old German forward-center standing 2.08 meters tall. The club aims to bolster its front line under coach Dimitris Itoudis. Kleber most recently played for the Los Angeles Lakers in the past season and previously spent eight seasons with the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA.

Kleber began his professional career in Germany with Würzburg before moving to Spain's Obradoiro for a season. He then played two seasons with Bayern Munich, where in his second year he averaged 9 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. In the summer of 2017, Kleber transitioned to the NBA, signing with the Dallas Mavericks. Last season with the Lakers, he averaged 2 points and 2 rebounds across 43 games.

Over his NBA career, Kleber has appeared in 531 regular-season games, averaging 6 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. In the playoffs, he posted averages of 5.9 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. Hapoel Tel Aviv sees Kleber as a valuable addition to strengthen its competitive edge for the next season.
