Paz Expands Ultra-Fast EV Charging Stations to BIG Shopping Centers Across Israel
Paz Charge, the electric vehicle (EV) charging network of Israel's largest fuel company Paz, is expanding its ultra-fast charging stations beyond traditional gas stations to commercial centers. The company has already established an ultra-fast charging site in Eilat, catering to drivers after long trips. Now, Paz is installing its distinctive yellow charging stations at BIG shopping centers nationwide, starting with a new facility at BIG Check Post in Haifa. This site will feature four ultra-fast chargers delivering up to 400 kilowatts, enabling EVs to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 15 minutes for compatible vehicles.
BIG is a major commercial real estate group managing 56 centers, including open malls, shopping centers, logistics hubs, offices, and rental housing, with about half located in Israel and the rest in Europe. Its centers are strategically placed near major traffic routes and residential and employment areas, attracting millions of visitors annually. Integrating Paz Charge stations into BIG centers allows EV drivers to conveniently charge their vehicles while shopping or spending leisure time.
Paz Charge currently operates Israel's largest ultra-fast charging network, with 358 charging points across 121 locations. This expansion into commercial and leisure hubs reflects the evolving mobility habits of EV drivers. Eldad Barak, CEO of Paz Charge, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with BIG, highlighting the demand for fast charging services in such venues and the benefit of providing accessible charging points at key locations throughout Israel.
