Paz Charge Launches Ultra-Fast EV Charging Network Across Israel
The transition to electric vehicles in Israel is being accelerated by significant advancements in ultra-fast charging technology, which is reshaping the user experience. Unlike slow home charging, ultra-fast chargers deliver direct current (DC) power at rates between 180 and 360 kilowatts, enabling drivers to add approximately 100 kilometers of range in just about 30 minutes. This drastically reduces wait times compared to traditional slow chargers that can occupy a spot for hours.
Paz Charge has implemented a uniform network of ultra-fast charging stations integrated within existing gas stations, major intersections, and highways across Israel, from the north to the Negev desert. This strategic placement allows drivers to recharge during brief stops, such as on the way to work or during longer trips, without significant delays. The network operates 24/7, and the charging process is managed seamlessly through the Yellow app, which automatically identifies the vehicle, processes payment, and offers cashback rewards.
The ultra-fast charging model not only improves convenience but also optimizes station usage by reducing wait times, especially during peak hours. Drivers can plan their trips confidently knowing that every Paz Charge station delivers consistent ultra-fast charging speeds. This approach is crucial as more Israelis adopt electric vehicles, making fast and reliable public charging infrastructure a fundamental necessity rather than a luxury.
Key data from Paz Charge's network includes charging power of 180-360 kW DC, an average charge of about 29 kWh per session, and the ability to add roughly 100 km of driving range in half an hour. The Yellow app also provides real-time availability of charging stations, enabling efficient trip planning. Overall, the development marks a pivotal shift in Israel’s EV infrastructure, facilitating wider adoption and smoother travel for electric vehicle users.
