Thousands Attend Funeral of Rabbi Avraham Menachem, Chief Rabbi of Migdal HaEmek

On Friday, thousands gathered to attend the funeral of Rabbi Avraham Menachem, the esteemed Chief Rabbi of Migdal HaEmek and head of the Nezer HaTorah Yeshiva. The funeral procession began at his study hall, Ner HaTzafon, in Migdal HaEmek. Among those eulogizing were Rabbi Yitzchak David Grossman, a prominent figure in the Kiruv movement, Rabbi Eliyahu Kalfa (his son-in-law), his brothers Rabbi David and Moshe Menachem, and Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Lasri, Chief Rabbi of Beit Shean and one of his students. Other speakers included Rabbi Shalom Shitrit, the yeshiva supervisor and son-in-law, rabbis Yitzchak Gutman and Yehuda Mizrachi, yeshiva heads, his sons Rabbi Shimon Menachem (yeshiva director) and Rabbi Yehuda Menachem, Rabbi Asher Ben David, and Migdal HaEmek Mayor Yaakov Ben Chaim.

The coffin was then transported to the Shamgar funeral home in Jerusalem, where further eulogies were delivered by prominent rabbis including Rabbi Shlomo Moshe Amar and Rabbi David Yosef, both former Chief Rabbis of Israel, Rabbi Yitzchak Cohen, Chief Rabbi of Shmuel HaNavi and another son-in-law, Rabbi Moshe Shitrit, head of the kollel and son-in-law, his son Rabbi Yigal Menachem, Rabbi Revach, and Shas party chairman Aryeh Deri. The funeral concluded with burial at Har HaMenuchot cemetery in Jerusalem.

The funeral was marked by the presence of many leading religious figures and community leaders, reflecting Rabbi Menachem's significant impact on religious life in northern Israel and beyond.
