Rabbi David Menachem Passes Away One Month After Brother, Leaving Migdalei Emek Community in Mourning

Rabbi David Menachem, a revered Torah scholar and spiritual leader in Migdal HaEmek, passed away on Shabbat afternoon at the age of 65 after enduring severe suffering. His death occurred exactly one month after the passing of his older brother, Rabbi Avraham Menachem, the city's chief rabbi and founder of the 'Ner HaTzafon' institutions, marking a double tragedy for the local community and their followers.

Born and raised in Migdal HaEmek, Rabbi David Menachem studied at the 'Shearit Yosef' yeshiva in his youth. After marriage, he settled in Migdal HaEmek, dedicating himself to Torah study and teaching. About thirty years ago, he was entrusted by his brother with the spiritual and administrative leadership of the 'Ner HaTzafon' institutions and the 'Nezer HaTorah' yeshiva. He also led the 'Or HaEmek' community, delivering daily and Shabbat Torah lessons.

Even during his final days in the hospital, Rabbi Menachem continued teaching Torah, reportedly completing the tractate Menachot shortly before his passing. He is survived by his wife and seven children, whom he had the merit to marry off during his lifetime.

Thousands, including rabbis, students, and admirers, attended his funeral at the Migdal HaEmek cemetery, where he was laid to rest beside his brother. His passing is mourned deeply by the community he served so devotedly.
