The story · English

Rabbi David Menachem, head of the Ner HaTzafon institutions and rabbi of the Or HaEmek community, passed away at age 62 on the Sabbath afternoon of Parshat Ki Tetze, following an illness. His death comes just about a month after the passing of his brother, Rabbi Avraham Menachem, the chief rabbi of Migdal HaEmek and head of the Nezer HaTorah yeshiva.

Raised in Migdal HaEmek, Rabbi David Menachem studied at the Shaarit Yosef yeshiva in Be'er Yaakov during his youth. After marriage, he settled in Migdal HaEmek and devoted his life to Torah study as a kollel scholar. Nearly 30 years ago, at his brother Rabbi Avraham Menachem's request, he took on the management of the Ner HaTzafon institutions and the Nezer HaTorah yeshiva.

Rabbi David Menachem was known for delivering daily and Shabbat Torah lessons to his community. Close associates recall that during his illness, he managed to complete the Talmudic tractate Menachot while hospitalized. He is survived by his widow and six children, whom he was fortunate to see married. His funeral took place on Saturday night at the Migdal HaEmek cemetery, where he was laid to rest. May his soul be bound in the bond of life.
