Maccabi Haifa Denies Receiving Bid for Yeremkov, Says He Wants to Stay
Maccabi Haifa has denied an Ukrainian report claiming Metalist Kharkiv submitted a 3 million euro offer for goalkeeper Georgiy Yeremkov. The report also said Yeremkov had reached positive talks with the Ukrainian club and agreed to return to play in Ukraine, but Haifa said otherwise.
A source at Maccabi Haifa said, "No offer has been received yet for Yeremkov, he wants to continue at the club." The Greens are also believed to be preparing a major salary increase for the goalkeeper, whose current deal is worth about 200,000 euros per season.
Yeremkov’s contract runs until summer 2027, including next season. He began in Shakhtar Donetsk’s youth system, moved up to the senior side in 2021, later played for Oleksandriya, and signed with Maccabi Haifa in 2024 before returning there from a loan spell last summer.
Since joining Haifa’s first team, Yeremkov has made 37 appearances and kept 12 clean sheets. The situation remains unresolved, but Haifa’s position is that no formal offer has arrived and the player is expected to stay.
