Maccabi Haifa Denies Ukrainian Bid for Yermakov, Says Keeper Wants to Stay
Maccabi Haifa has rejected a report from Ukraine claiming that Metalist Kharkiv submitted a 3 million euro offer for goalkeeper Georgiy Yermakov. The Ukrainian report said Yermakov had already held successful talks with the club and agreed to return to play in Ukraine, but Haifa says that is not the case.
A Haifa source said, "No offer has been received yet for Yermakov, he wants to continue at the club." According to estimates around the Green Club, Haifa is expected to significantly increase his salary, which is currently about 200,000 euros per season.
Yermakov's current contract runs until the summer of 2027, when the next season ends. He began in Shakhtar Donetsk's youth system and moved up to the senior team in 2021. After a spell at Oleksandriya, he signed with Maccabi Haifa in 2024 and, after being loaned back to his former club, joined Haifa's first-team squad last summer.
So far, he has made 37 appearances for Maccabi Haifa and kept 12 clean sheets.
