Foreign Caregiver Arrested for Abuse and Sexual Offenses Against Elderly Woman in Tirat Carmel

Israeli authorities are investigating a 40-year-old foreign caregiver from India suspected of abusing, sexually assaulting, and neglecting an elderly woman in her 80s in Tirat Carmel. The probe began after the victim's family reported suspicions of violent behavior by the caregiver. A covert police investigation uncovered multiple offenses allegedly committed over the course of her employment, exploiting the victim's vulnerable physical condition.

Following the transition to an overt investigation phase, police arrested the suspect at the victim's home, seized her passport, and conducted further inquiries that strengthened the evidentiary basis against her. Her detention has been extended repeatedly by the court. Over the weekend, the prosecution submitted a statement of charges, and a formal indictment is expected once the investigation concludes.
