Meta Launches Seller App to Streamline Facebook Marketplace Sales for Frequent Sellers
Meta has introduced a new app called Seller to enhance Facebook Marketplace, targeting users who sell regularly and in large quantities. While users can still post ads directly on Facebook, Seller centralizes the entire sales process, offering advanced business management tools from ad creation to performance tracking. The app fully syncs with Facebook Marketplace, automatically transferring existing listings, sales history, and buyer conversations, allowing sellers to manage everything without juggling multiple platforms.
Seller’s home screen consolidates tasks needing attention, such as pending shipments, unanswered messages, and ads that could benefit from price updates. It also displays sales performance data to help sellers quickly identify priorities. A key feature is the integration of Meta AI, which suggests titles, descriptions, categories, and price estimates after users upload product photos. The app also supports bulk posting of multiple ads, ideal for sellers with large inventories.
Additionally, Seller offers a unified messaging inbox organized by product, simplifying communication management. The performance insights screen provides metrics like ad views, clicks, buyer inquiries, and completed sales, giving sellers a clearer understanding of their success. This launch marks a shift in Facebook Marketplace’s approach, evolving from a simple community board to a platform catering to professional sellers and small businesses.
Meta highlights that Facebook Marketplace is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, currently serving over one billion active users monthly with around 430 million items listed worldwide each month. Seller is initially available to users aged 18 and over in the United States on iPhone and Android devices, with a web version under consideration. Meta plans to continue developing the app based on seller feedback.
