OpenAI has expanded ChatGPT's capabilities in healthcare by introducing ChatGPT Health, a new service that allows users to connect their personal medical information and health data from various sources. This integration can include supported medical records, test results, medications, doctor visits, and Apple Health data, enabling the system to consider an individual's medical history rather than providing only general responses. According to OpenAI, the service aims to help users better understand medical information, prepare for doctor appointments, and track health changes over time.

Users can ask ChatGPT to explain visit summaries, compare blood test results with previous ones, prepare questions for medical consultations, or incorporate sleep, heart rate, and activity data when designing exercise routines. Access to medical data requires explicit user permission, with options for one-time approval, ongoing authorization, or disconnection at any time. OpenAI emphasizes that connected health information will not be used to train base models or for targeted advertising.

Initially, ChatGPT Health is available to users aged 18 and older in the United States, supporting both the website and iPhone app. No launch date has been announced for Israel. OpenAI stresses that despite the connection to personal data, ChatGPT is not a diagnostic tool, and users should verify important information against original records and consult healthcare professionals before making medical decisions.
