David Roddy Signs With Hapoel Jerusalem, Joining Key Summer Acquisitions

Hapoel Jerusalem officially announced the signing of forward David Roddy, marking his first professional season in Europe. The 25-year-old, standing 1.96 meters tall, was originally drafted 23rd overall in the 2022 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers. Roddy has played two seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies and had stints with Phoenix, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Houston, and Denver, including time in the G League. He also has a background in football and athletics from his youth.

Roddy's contract with Hapoel Jerusalem is for one season with an option for a second, reportedly worth approximately $1.5 million annually. He is the third major signing for the Jerusalem team this summer, following Jalen Smith and Devontae Cacok. The club also extended Jared Harper's contract through the 2028/29 season. Roddy will join coach Sasha Obradovic's squad as they prepare for the upcoming Israeli Basketball Premier League season.
