Hapoel Jerusalem Signs Forward David Roddy for First European Season

Hapoel Jerusalem officially announced the signing of forward David Roddy, marking his first season playing basketball in Europe. Roddy, 25 years old and 1.96 meters tall, was originally drafted 23rd overall in the 2022 NBA Draft by Philadelphia. He has played two seasons with Memphis and had stints with Phoenix, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Houston, and Denver, as well as time in the G League. Roddy also has a background in football and athletics from his youth.

The contract is for one season with an option for a second, reportedly worth approximately $1.5 million per year. Roddy is the third summer acquisition for the Jerusalem team, joining Jalen Smith and Devontae Cacok. Additionally, the club extended Jared Harper's contract through the 2028/29 season. These moves aim to strengthen the squad under coach Sasha Obradovic ahead of the upcoming Israeli Basketball Premier League season.
