Israeli Lightly Wounded in West Bank Stabbing Attack; Assailants Killed

An Israeli man sustained light injuries to his leg in a stabbing attack near the settlement of Ganim in northern Samaria on Thursday. The assailant, a 28-year-old Palestinian police officer from the village of Tubas in northern Samaria, arrived by car and stabbed a person while Israeli soldiers were securing a nearby logistics post. Two paratroopers from Battalion 890 shot and killed the attacker. One paratrooper was lightly wounded and evacuated to Emek Medical Center in Afula.

Earlier the same day, Itamar Cohen, 51, a founder of agricultural farms in Judea and Samaria, was seriously injured in a stabbing near the "Derech Avraham" farm close to the settlement of Elon Moreh in Samaria. Paramedics treated him on site and airlifted him to a hospital. Both attackers in this incident were killed at the scene by an Israeli civilian present during the attack.

The Israel Defense Forces reported that the second attack began when Israeli civilians were attempting to extinguish a fire at the farm. During the firefighting efforts, two attackers stabbed an Israeli civilian, who was seriously wounded. Another Israeli civilian opened fire, killing both assailants. Following the attack, the nearby village of Beit Furik was placed under lockdown.

Magen David Adom emergency medic Israel Arbus described the scene, stating that during the fire security operation, civilians alerted them to a stabbing victim. They provided life-saving treatment, including stopping the bleeding, in coordination with IDF medical personnel before evacuating the victim in serious condition to the hospital.
