Ashdod Man Arrested for Chasing Minor, Stealing Bag, and Possessing Drugs

Police in Ashdod arrested a 38-year-old local man on Thursday after he chased a minor while holding a sharp object and stole the minor's bag about a week and a half ago in a public park. During the investigation, authorities also discovered that the suspect possessed drugs at his home in quantities exceeding personal use. Following the report, Ashdod police conducted a swift and professional investigation, collecting evidence and testimonies that led to the suspect's identification and arrest. According to the indictment, the suspect disobeyed police orders during his arrest. The Ashkelon Magistrate's Court received charges against him for theft, possession of drugs beyond personal use, obstructing a police officer, and threats.

Deputy Chief of Ashdod Police Station, Retanan Amram, emphasized the seriousness of violence or threats against minors and praised the police for their prompt and professional response. He assured that the police will continue to act decisively to ensure the safety and security of the city's residents.
