Tel Aviv Teacher Suspected of Raping 12-Year-Old Student Previously Worked at Another School

The police continue to investigate Muhammad Naqib, a 27-year-old mathematics teacher from a prestigious high school in Tel Aviv, who is suspected of raping his 12-year-old student. It was revealed that before joining the current school, Naqib completed an internship at another educational institution where his employment was terminated due to dissatisfaction with his performance. Educational staff have held meetings with students from the school where Naqib previously taught, while police are conducting further interrogations to determine if there are additional victims.

Naqib, a resident of Lod, was arrested last week following a report of sexual offenses against his student. During his interrogation, he admitted to some of the alleged acts, expressed remorse, and broke down in tears. The police plan to request a five-day extension of his detention in court tomorrow.

The school principal issued a statement to parents and students acknowledging the distress caused by the incident and assuring that the school is providing personalized support to all students. The statement emphasized the school's commitment to sensitivity, responsibility, and discretion in addressing the needs of each student affected by the case.
