Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash at Glilot Interchange Claims One Life, Several Injured

A serious multi-vehicle accident occurred late Monday night on Highway 20 near the Glilot Interchange, resulting in the death of a 19-year-old man. Paramedics from Magen David Adom (MDA) found the young man unconscious with severe injuries and declared him dead at the scene. Additionally, three other men were injured: a 20-year-old in critical condition with multiple severe injuries was rushed to Ichilov Hospital intubated and sedated, while two others aged 26 and 28 sustained moderate limb injuries and were also hospitalized.

MDA paramedics Idan Shina, Yaniv Ninyo, and emergency medic Daniel Giat described the scene as complex due to the involvement of several vehicles and multiple casualties. They emphasized the severity of the injuries and the challenges faced during the rescue operation.

Earlier the same day, a separate fatal incident occurred near President Junction on Highway 25, where a man in his 40s was struck by a vehicle. MDA teams found him with critical multiple injuries and pronounced him dead at the scene. Another individual was lightly injured and taken to Soroka Medical Center. Senior MDA medics Meir Almaliach and Razek Alturi reported that despite immediate medical efforts, the victim's injuries were too severe to survive.

These incidents highlight ongoing road safety concerns in Israel, with emergency services responding to multiple critical accidents within hours. Investigations into the causes of both crashes are expected to continue.
