Pedestrian Dies in Fatal West Negev Road Accident on Route 25

A man in his 40s was killed overnight between Sunday and Monday in a traffic accident on Route 25 near the President Junction in western Negev, after being struck by a vehicle. A woman sustained minor injuries and was taken to Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba. The Magen David Adom emergency call was received at 00:17, and paramedics reported the man suffered severe multi-system trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.

This fatality is part of a series of deadly road accidents in Israel over the past week, resulting in five deaths. Among the victims was 4-year-old Arbel Uri Hoffman from the Tekuma moshav near the Gaza border, who died last Wednesday from injuries sustained five days earlier in a crash on Highway 6 between the Shorak and Kiryat Gat interchanges. Her 6-year-old brother was moderately injured.

Other fatalities included a 35-year-old pregnant woman from Jerusalem who died in a head-on collision near Ashdod port, a 5-year-old girl hit by a car in Jerusalem's Mea Shearim neighborhood, 20-year-old Najer Nasser Kabha from Ar'ara who died in an unusual accident on Route 65 near the Iron Interchange, and 10-year-old Omar Shadi Aazam who was killed by an electric scooter in Meiser, within the Menashe Regional Council area.

Authorities continue to investigate these incidents amid ongoing concerns about road safety in Israel.
