Jeff Dowtin Jr. Shifts Focus From AEK Athens to Napoli After Setting 37 Conditions
Jeff Dowtin Jr., former Maccabi Tel Aviv player, is moving on from his first challenging European season and seeking a new basketball destination. Initially in talks with AEK Athens, reports now indicate he is set to join Napoli, which will compete in the EuroCup next season. Greek journalist Christos Zeltas revealed that the deal with AEK fell through not due to financial disagreements, as both sides had agreed on money, but because Dowtin imposed 37 conditions that AEK accepted before he started retracting and requesting more time. Dowtin averaged 8.1 points, 2.4 assists, and 1.1 rebounds in 17 minutes per game last season in the EuroLeague. His next step will be playing in the EuroCup with Napoli.
