Police Dog Leads Officers to Seize Gun and Magazine in Segev Shalom
During a targeted police operation in the community of Segev Shalom on Wednesday, Israeli police confiscated a handgun and a magazine. The operation was part of the "Iron Net" campaign, directed by the police commissioner, aimed at combating illegal firearms possession, shootings, and crime in the area. Officers from the Rotem district, together with the Southern Border Unit and Border Police fighters, conducted a proactive search at a private residence. The police dog Anna played a crucial role by detecting and indicating the exact hiding place of the weapon and magazine. The seized arms were transferred for forensic examination and further investigation at the Segev Shalom police station. This intensified enforcement effort focuses on preventing violent escalations and attacks amid ongoing conflicts between various factions in the region.
