Marcus Bingham Signs Two-Year Deal with Fenerbahce After Maccabi Tel Aviv Deal Falls Through
Marcus Bingham, a 26-year-old center standing 2.13 meters tall, has officially signed a two-year contract with Turkish club Fenerbahce. The move comes after a previously agreed deal with Israeli team Maccabi Tel Aviv for the 2026/27 season collapsed a few weeks ago. Bingham was set to be one of Maccabi's first signings but withdrew due to a family-imposed veto following a recent missile attack in Israel.
Last season, Bingham played 54 games for Russian club Unics Kazan, averaging 15.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game. Fenerbahce reportedly offered him a $1.4 million contract, which he accepted. Bingham's career includes four years in college basketball, a breakthrough season with Hapoel Haifa in 2023/24, and subsequent stints with Hapoel Holon and Hapoel Tel Aviv, where he transferred in November for an unusual $600,000 buyout.
After leaving Israel this summer, Bingham moved to the Russian league and now advances to the EuroLeague with Fenerbahce. His signing fills the void left by his withdrawal from the Israeli league and marks a significant step in his professional career.
