Marcus Bingham Signs Two-Year Deal with Fenerbahce After Maccabi Tel Aviv Deal Falls Through

Marcus Bingham, a 26-year-old center standing 2.13 meters tall, has officially signed a two-year contract with Turkish club Fenerbahce. The move comes after a previously agreed deal with Israeli team Maccabi Tel Aviv for the 2026/27 season collapsed several weeks ago. Bingham had initially agreed to terms with Maccabi but withdrew due to a family-imposed veto following a recent missile attack in Israel, which made him unwilling to return to the country.

Bingham played last season for Russian club Unics Kazan, appearing in 54 games and averaging 15.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game. His signing with Fenerbahce reportedly includes a $1.4 million contract. Prior to his time in Russia, Bingham spent four years in college basketball before joining the Israeli league, where he played for Hapoel Haifa and Hapoel Holon during the 2023/24 season. He later transferred to Hapoel Tel Aviv in November for an unusual buyout fee of $600,000.

The Turkish club capitalized on the opportunity created by Bingham's withdrawal from Israel, securing a key player for their EuroLeague roster. This move marks Bingham's return to a top European league after his stint in Russia and Israel.
