Marcus Bingham Signs Two-Year Deal with Fenerbahce After Maccabi Tel Aviv Deal Falls Through
Marcus Bingham, the 26-year-old center, has officially signed a two-year contract with Turkish club Fenerbahce following the collapse of his deal with Maccabi Tel Aviv earlier this summer. Bingham was expected to be one of Maccabi Tel Aviv's first signings for the 2026/27 season after agreeing to terms with the Israeli club, but the agreement fell apart due to security concerns stemming from a recent missile attack in Israel. His family vetoed his return to Israel, prompting him to seek opportunities elsewhere.
Last season, Bingham played 54 games for Russian team Unics Kazan, averaging 15.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game. Fenerbahce reportedly offered him a $1.4 million contract, which he accepted. Bingham's career in Israel began after four years in college basketball, initially joining Hapoel Haifa in the 2023/24 season, then moving to Hapoel Holon. He transferred to Hapoel Tel Aviv in November for an unusual $600,000 buyout fee after a strong start to the season.
After leaving Israel this summer, Bingham moved to the Russian league and now advances to the EuroLeague with Fenerbahce. His signing fills the void left by his inability to return to Israel, marking a significant step in his professional career.
