Marcus Bingham Says He Has Two Strong NBA Offers After Breakout Season in Russia
Marcus Bingham says his future may be in the NBA after a standout season with UNICS Kazan. In a Russian media interview, the 25-year-old American center said he has “two good offers” from NBA teams, while he has also drawn attention from EuroLeague clubs and was recently mentioned as a possible frontcourt target for Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Bingham left Hapoel Tel Aviv last summer and made a major leap this season in the VTB United League, where he was named Rookie of the Year. The report said his progress has made him one of the more sought-after big men on the market.
He also spoke about his previous time in Israel and compared it with life in Russia under sanctions and the war in Ukraine. “Before I came to Russia, I played in Israel, and everything there feels completely different,” he said. “There is war in Israel, and the overall situation is similar to what we see in Russia, but at the same time everything is perceived very differently.”
Bingham added that in Russia, “people take it more simply and life goes on as usual,” while in Israel “the talk about what is happening in Gaza is much more present.” He said the atmosphere in Israel created “a strong sense of being close to war.”
