Marcus Bingham Jr., who had been close to signing with Maccabi Tel Aviv, is now expected to land at Fenerbahce, according to European reports. The Turkish champions allegedly finalized terms with the forward, who was said to be headed for a two-year deal with an option for a third season in Tel Aviv worth $900,000 before the situation changed.
The report says Bingham had initially been willing to return to Israel, but the missile attacks altered the picture. He is now reportedly unwilling to come back because his family vetoed the move. Fenerbahce then stepped in with a contract worth $1.4 million, which he has apparently accepted.
Bingham delivered a strong season with Kazan, averaging 15.8 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game in the regular season, shooting 56.4% from the field and 39.0% from three. In the playoffs, he posted 14.9 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game, with shooting splits of 57.2% overall and 36.5% from long range.
The forward came to Israel after four college seasons and first broke out with Hapoel Haifa in 2023/24. He then signed with Hapoel Holon, later moved to Hapoel Tel Aviv in November for an unusual $600,000 buyout, and left Israel this summer for Russia before now being linked with a departure from that league as well.
