Fenerbahce made room for anticipated high-profile additions by parting ways with four players on Thursday, after closing in the previous 24 hours on three major signings, Shane Larkin, Shaquille McKissic and Braxton Key. The moves were still not officially announced, but the Turkish club was clearly reshaping its roster.
Among those released was Armando Bacot, a 26-year-old, 2.08-meter center and a candidate for Maccabi Tel Aviv. In EuroLeague play this season, Bacot averaged 2.4 points and 1.8 rebounds in 10:07 minutes per game.
Also let go was Gilson Bango, a 27-year-old, 2.08-meter Angolan center and a candidate for Hapoel Jerusalem. Bango missed the entire past season because of a serious injury.
The other two departures were Brandon Boston Jr., a 24-year-old, 1.98-meter swingman who averaged 4.8 points and 1.6 rebounds in 11:49 minutes last season, and Arturs Zagars, a 26-year-old, 1.90-meter Latvian guard who was injured for long stretches and appeared in only five EuroLeague games.
