Tel Aviv Bus Driver Arrested for Drunk Driving After Passenger Falls During Ride
A bus driver in his 50s from Holon was arrested on Wednesday evening on suspicion of drunk driving after a female passenger in her 70s fell during a ride on Herzog Street in Tel Aviv. The woman was lightly injured and evacuated by emergency medical teams. Traffic police from the Yarkon district, who responded to the scene, detected the smell of alcohol on the driver. An initial breathalyzer test indicated intoxication, and a subsequent blood alcohol test showed a level of 664 micrograms, nearly three times the legal limit. The driver was detained for further investigation by the Tel Aviv traffic division. He was later released under restrictive conditions, had his driving license revoked, and is expected to face criminal charges.
