Israeli Traffic Police Crack Down on Dangerous Bus Drivers in Tel Aviv

Following the involvement of bus drivers in traffic accidents, the Yarkon traffic police launched a focused enforcement operation targeting life-threatening violations by bus drivers in central Tel Aviv. During the operation, 13 public vehicles, including 11 buses, one truck, and one private car, were removed from the road due to safety defects. The buses involved belong to companies operating public transportation lines.

The police issued 20 traffic fines to bus drivers for various offenses: five for running red lights, seven for using mobile phones while driving, five for lane deviation, two for driving against directional arrows, and one for making an illegal U-turn. The enforcement was carried out using patrol inspectors, still cameras, and tactical cameras to detect violations.

The Israeli police emphasized their commitment to continuing both covert and overt enforcement activities to ensure road user safety and to identify vehicles that endanger the public during passenger transport.
