Hapoel Tel Aviv Signs Czech Guard Tomas Satoransky for One Season

Hapoel Tel Aviv officially announced the signing of Czech guard Tomas Satoransky on July 15, 2026. The 34-year-old player joined the Israeli club from Barcelona on a one-year contract. The signing was first reported by Sport Channel, which also revealed that the club is investigating Satoransky's potential Jewish roots, which could allow him to obtain Israeli citizenship and play as a local player in the upcoming season.

Satoransky returned to Europe in 2022 after six years in the NBA, where he played for Washington, Chicago, New Orleans, and San Antonio. Last season in the EuroLeague, he averaged 7 points, 4.3 assists, and 3.4 rebounds in 25 minutes per game. He won the Spanish league championship with Barcelona in 2023 and has been named Czech Player of the Year eight times.

According to Sport Channel, Satoransky is expected to earn around $1.5 million for the season. He will likely serve as the third guard in the rotation under coach Itoudis, with the club planning to add another senior guard. Hapoel Tel Aviv has also strengthened its roster by signing Amir Coffey, Kadin Carrington, and Zach LeDay, while extending contracts for Tai Odiase, Antonio Blakeney, Elijah Bryant, Ish Wainright, and Dan Otero.
