Hapoel Tel Aviv Nears Deal to Sign Czech Guard Tomas Satoransky from Barcelona
Hapoel Tel Aviv is close to finalizing a significant signing with Czech guard Tomas Satoransky, currently playing for Barcelona, according to Sport 5. The 34-year-old guard, who returned to Europe in 2022 after six seasons in the NBA with Washington, Chicago, New Orleans, and San Antonio, is expected to join the Israeli club for the upcoming season.
Last season, Satoransky averaged 7 points, 4.3 assists, and 3.4 rebounds in 25 minutes per game in the EuroLeague. He won the Spanish league championship with Barcelona in 2023 and has been named Czech Player of the Year eight times.
The deal reportedly includes a one-year contract with an option, paying Satoransky approximately $1.5 million. He is expected to serve as the third guard in Hapoel Tel Aviv's rotation under coach Itoudis, with the club planning to add another senior guard to the roster. This move marks a major reinforcement for Hapoel Tel Aviv ahead of the new season.
