Electric Scooter Charging Overnight Sparks Apartment Fire in Abu Ghosh

Early Monday morning, a fire broke out in an apartment in Abu Ghosh, prompting the response of six firefighting teams from Mevaseret and the Beit Shemesh area. Fire and Rescue Services in the Jerusalem district reported that the blaze was caused by an electric scooter that had been left charging for several hours. During firefighting efforts, the scorched scooter was removed from the apartment. The investigation and questioning of the apartment owner confirmed that the scooter ignited while connected to the charger. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the fire caused significant property damage within the apartment. Firefighters successfully contained the fire, preventing it from spreading to other parts of the building.
