19-Year-Old Northern Israeli Man Charged with Threatening Woman After Marriage Refusal

A 19-year-old man from northern Israel has been formally charged with threatening and harassing a young woman after she refused to marry him. According to the indictment filed at Nazareth Magistrate's Court, the accused previously had a romantic relationship with the woman, but they separated when he learned she planned to marry another man.

The situation escalated when the man confronted the woman's father at his workplace, expressing anger over his daughter's engagement. Shortly after, the accused saw the woman's brother-in-law passing by in his car, shouted at him, brandished a sharp object to intimidate him, and later sent a threatening message to the father stating "we are still at the beginning." That same night, he appeared near the family's home during a celebration, carrying a plastic bottle filled with fuel, intending to instill fear.

The indictment reveals this was not an isolated incident. Months earlier, the man blocked the car of the woman's sister and threatened, "I want your sister, I will kill you." He also sent a threatening voice message to the sister, swearing that if he caught the woman, she would not survive. Over approximately three months, he extorted the woman by threatening to release private photos unless he was paid 100,000 shekels.

The charges against the accused include threats and extortion. The case highlights a pattern of harassment and intimidation following the woman's refusal to marry the suspect.
