IDF Eliminates Senior Hamas Production Commander in Gaza Airstrike
The Israeli Air Force conducted a targeted strike in northern Gaza earlier this week, killing Khalil Jamal Khalil Mena, a key figure in Hamas's military production headquarters. Mena was responsible for overseeing the manufacture of rocket launchers and critical stages of weapons production aimed at Israeli territory. Despite ceasefire periods, he actively worked to rebuild the production infrastructure damaged by Israeli strikes. Alongside Mena, another Hamas department commander, Osama Walid Dib Mharab of the Nuzirat Battalion, was also killed. Mharab posed an immediate threat to Israeli forces, reportedly possessing explosives intended for attacks against soldiers.
The IDF stated that these airstrikes aimed to eliminate direct and immediate threats to troops and to dismantle Hamas's terror infrastructure in Gaza. Southern Command forces remain on high alert and continue operations to neutralize any ongoing dangers in the region. This operation marks a continuation of Israel's efforts to systematically dismantle Hamas's military capabilities amid ongoing conflict in Gaza.
