Israeli Forces Rescue Soldier and Two Women from Jericho Amid Security Risks

Israeli security forces conducted two rescue operations in Jericho, a Palestinian city in the West Bank, on the night of July 10-11, 2026. The first involved a female Israeli soldier who entered the city with an Arab Israeli friend to attend a birthday party. After receiving a report about her presence in the area, the Civil Administration and Coordination and Liaison Headquarters officers intervened to ensure her safety and transferred her to military police for further investigation.

Several hours later, security forces rescued two additional Israeli women spotted speaking Hebrew in the villa neighborhood of Jericho. The women explained they had entered the city to meet friends they had met during a trip to the Sinai Desert. Both cases were handed over to the Judea and Samaria District Police for further handling.

The Israeli defense establishment reiterated that entering Area A territories, including Jericho, is prohibited and dangerous under Israeli law, emphasizing the risks to personal safety.
