Hapoel Tel Aviv Extends Antonio Blakeney's Contract Through 2029

Hapoel Tel Aviv announced on July 10, 2026, that Antonio Blakeney has extended his contract with the basketball club until the end of the 2028/29 season. Previously signed through 2027, the new deal adds two more years to his tenure with the team. Blakeney expressed excitement about continuing with the club, emphasizing his readiness to play and the team's goal to improve after falling short of some targets last season. "We have a long journey ahead, and I’m signed for three more seasons with hopes for many more," he said.

The club's sporting director, George Chinas, highlighted the importance of continuity in their strategy, praising Blakeney as one of the best shooters in the EuroLeague who has significantly improved various aspects of his game. Coach Dimitris Itoudis also praised Blakeney’s hard work and contribution to the team’s growth, expecting him to help achieve their goals through continued effort.

In the previous EuroLeague season, Blakeney played 41 games, averaging 13.2 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game, with shooting percentages of 53.8% on two-pointers and 40% on three-pointers. In the Israeli Winner League, he appeared in 13 regular-season games, averaging 12.9 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.8 assists, shooting 37.7% on two-pointers and 41.2% on three-pointers. This extension follows recent contract renewals of other key players, signaling Hapoel Tel Aviv’s commitment to maintaining a strong core for upcoming seasons.
