Retired Colonel Talia Lankri Joins Yisrael Beiteinu, Supports Liberman for PM
Retired Colonel Talia Lankri has officially joined the Yisrael Beiteinu party, led by Avigdor Liberman, the party announced on Wednesday evening. Lankri currently serves as a national security advisor and lecturer, as well as a council member and chair of the Ometz faction in the local council of Gedera. She has previously contributed to key defense committees, including the Nagel Committee on defense budgeting and force structure, and the Turgeman Committee reviewing the October 7th investigations.
Lankri's military career includes serving as deputy head of the National Security Council for counterterrorism policy, internal security, and home front affairs, as well as heading the home front division. She was also the first female battalion commander at the IDF's Officer Training School (Bahad 1). In her statement on joining the party, Lankri emphasized the urgent need to restore security following the events of October 7th, stating she could no longer remain on the sidelines and wanted to influence decision-making processes.

Avigdor Liberman welcomed Lankri's addition, praising her significant security and national experience and deep understanding of decision-making systems and home front challenges. He said her joining strengthens Yisrael Beiteinu's professional security team and reaffirmed the party's commitment to a clear, responsible stance against terrorism to restore security, governance, and public trust in Israel.
