Police Carefully Open a Hidden Package in a Northern Business, and Find This

Police raided a business in Tiberias, began dismantling engine parts, and could hardly believe what had been hidden inside. Watch the dramatic footage of the exposed loaded handgun, with a round already in the barrel, which led to an arrest, an indictment and an immediate closure order.

As part of the Israel Police’s ongoing fight against illegal weapons in various sectors, and especially in the Northern District, officers recorded another operational success at an active business in the city of Tiberias. The incident took place in the evening, when police forces raided the site as part of a targeted, proactive operation based on prior intelligence and district activity against the possession of illegal weapons that endanger public safety.

During the thorough search conducted by the officers inside the business, they located a handgun that had been concealed in a sophisticated way. An immediate examination of the weapon showed that it was fully loaded, with a bullet already in the barrel, ready to fire immediately. Alongside the handgun, the officers also seized a compatible magazine and additional ammunition. The weapon and the findings were taken from the scene and transferred for further evidentiary processing and extensive forensic laboratory testing at the Israel Police’s forensic laboratories, in order to determine whether it was linked to earlier criminal incidents.

In the official footage released by police spokespersons, the officers are seen inside a garage or motorcycle workshop filled with tools and colorful off-road motorcycles. One officer, wearing blue rubber gloves to preserve the integrity of the forensic evidence, is seen carefully opening a large white wrapper on top of a tool chest. From the wrapper, he removes a large, heavy mechanical part of an engine or disassembled gearbox. The officer turns the mechanical part over, and from inside it carefully extracts a black handgun that had been hidden in its center, and then removes a magazine hidden with it. Officers at the scene are seen documenting the dramatic moment of exposure, which demonstrates the high level of concealment used by the business owner.

As a result of the serious findings and the immediate danger posed to the public by the possession of a loaded weapon ready to fire inside a business, the owner of the place, a 38-year-old Tiberias resident, was arrested and taken for a lengthy investigation at the local police station, after which he was imprisoned. The suspect’s detention was extended from time to time by the court according to the needs of the investigation and the seriousness of the offenses.

In parallel to the criminal proceedings, police also imposed administrative sanctions on the business itself. After a hearing was held in accordance with the law, the commander of the Tiberias police station signed an immediate administrative closure order for the place for 30 days, due to the security and criminal risk posed by the site.

After the intensive investigation was completed and a strong evidentiary foundation was established against the suspect, the Tiberias police prosecution unit filed a serious indictment with the court for the offenses attributed to him. The indictment was accompanied by an official request to hold the business owner in custody until the end of the proceedings against him.

Police emphasized after the incident that harm to the public through illegal weapons is a serious scourge, and that the police will continue to act decisively, with a firm hand and without compromise, to thwart acts of violence and crime and maintain the personal safety of citizens.
